OUR MISSION
Maki Longboards combines the art of board building with the science of sustainable design to craft fine surf skate boards. Each shape undergoes a continual process of refinement and evolution, which sets our handcrafted longboards apart. We believe that even our best longboards can and will get better as time goes on based on rider feedback and new advancements in our materials and processes.
GREEN DESIGN/ ENVIRONMENTAL IMPACT
We believe that building the best longboards possible requires a
holistic approach. Our goal is to accentuate the performance and aesthetic qualities of natural wood without harmful finishes or chemicals. To achieve this goal, we have developed a unique finishing technique using Entropy Bio-Resins.

We utilize the strength of Hardrock Maple and the classic texture and color of Red Oak our blanks, which are "glassed" with natural fiber laminates allowing natural colors and graphics to enhance rather than cover the natural beauty of the wood cores. This "all natural" approach is just one way that we lessen the impact of our products on our environment.

PROCESS
We begin the board-building process with raw lumber, which we mill into strips of various widths. These "stringers" are then glued up into a pattern based on desired grain and color characteristics.
The glued core is then planed to the desired thickness, and our natural fiber laminates are applied along with any colors, graphics, or pinlines to the top and bottom. The resulting "blank" is then cut, shaped, and sanded into the final product.
